Who is Dave Carley?
He is the talented Canadian playwright whose plays WOMEN AT PLAY produced several times in Columbus. Remember THE EDIBLE WOMAN? ORCHIDELIRIUM? THE LAST LIBERAL? CONSERVATIVES IN LOVE????
Since WOMEN AT PLAY is no more, the outgrowth group WILD WOMEN WRITING (Ann Brethauer, Susie Gerald, Linda Katz, Katherine Burkman, Ann C. Hall, Patricia Ake, Carole Dale, Laura Zakin, and Christine Buuck) are bringing Dave Carley back (he will be here with us!) with several short plays (he will not be wearing shorts), some of which have been produced before, but most of which are receiving their WORLD PREMIERE right here in Columbus! Their theme: Strong women and the men who love them.
The plays are: HE WON'T MARRY ME (premiere at Acme Theatre, Mass.), HOLDING HER ALIVE (premiere), WAITING FOR GRANT (premiere), URBAN NUN (premiere atTheatre Passe Muraille, Toronto), MY MOTHER'S LUCK (premiere, Summerworks Festival, Tarragon Theatre, Toronto), THE BOY ON THE WALL (premiere) , and GOOD THINGS COME (premiere).
The actors in what will be a staged reading are: Linda Katz, Emily Bach, David Fawcett, Ellen Nickles, Katherine Burkman, Simon Dowd, and Nick Lingnofski.

Sanctuary for the Arts, in Sunbury, Saturday, May 22nd at 4:00 p.m. Come early to see the fabulous grounds and new labyrinth.
Sherrie Gallerie, 694 North High Street, Sunday, May 23rd at 2:00 p.m. Come early to see the beautiful art collection and jewelry.
There will be a talkback with the playwright after each performance.
